How to make the most of the seasons.

*clears Bridgerton voice* Dearest gentle reader, as we enter into another new season, we’re thinking about how to make the most of the seasons, all four of them. Spring, summer, autumn and winter, we each have our favourites… and our least favourites… but how can we romanticise each season as it comes?

Spring

Spring is a time for new beginnings and change, it’s a great excuse to do some cleaning and a good clear out. It feels easy to romanticise this time of year because it’s such a beautiful season with new growth and bright colours. We love getting out in the garden as the days get warmer, prepping our plant beds, going on long walks, breathing in the fresh air.

Ways to make the most out of spring:

• Make a plan for your garden
• Go on that long walk you were planning last year but never got to
• Book in a summer trip
• Forest bathe

Summer

A lot of people wish away the summer to get to autumn, but we love this time of year! The warm weather is perfect for reading in and of course it’s holiday season too. Everyone seems a little happier in the summer and we get to wear our shorts and cute tops. It can certainly get a bit too hot and we wouldn’t be British if we didn’t complain about the weather…

Ways to make the most out of summer:

• Get on those summer reads
• Have many, many BBQs
• Have a picnic with friends
• Take a trip to the beach… with a book of course!

Autumn

We know you all love autumn, it’s a beautiful time of year as the trees change and the weather is still slightly warm, but sometimes moody and rainy aka the perfect reading weather. Autumn is spooky season too, so it’s time for fantasy and horror books with the all the witchy vibes!

Ways to make the most out of autumn:

• Go to a pumpkin patch
• Have a photoshoot in the fallen leaves
•  Read a good horror book
Journal with materials you’ve found on a walk

Winter

Winter can be a difficult season for many, it’s cold, it’s dark and it’s more expensive to heat a home. But there’s also beauty in this season, in the frost of a winter’s morning and the first flakes of snow.

Ways to make the most out of winter:

• Plan a self-care day to keep your spirits up
• Have a random dance party, great to keep you active but also to warm you up!
• Write a list of things you love about this time of year
• Take your camera/phone out on a frosty morning just to observe
