5 Books on our Spring TBR.

Hands up if you’re excited for spring?! We are and not only because spring is bookshop season, but also because of all the books we’ve got sat waiting on our TBR for the perfect fair weather day. Here are the stories we’re excited to dive into this spring.

Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Fairies

Heather Fawcett

The blurb for this one definitely sounds a bit Spiderwick Chronicles-esk which can only be a good thing! This is following a professor who journeys to a small town to study faerie folklore and discovers some magical things along the way. It’s a series and is meant to be rather lovely and heartwarming. It sounds perfect for spring and the cover is giving off every glorious, floral vibe!

Bridge

Lauren Beukes

This book sounds so damn cool, it’s an alternate reality story about the main character searching for her mum. I loveeee reality-bending weirdness so this sounds right up my street, I always find it fascinating to see the different lives characters could have had.

Cloud Atlas

David Mitchell

I don’t know why I’m out here wanting to hurt my brain with these reality-bending books… but here we are. This book is an adventure across time and reality and I can’t really tell you much more than that. The film was amazing so it’s about time I read the book to hurt my head a bit more.

Sunrise of the Reaping

Suzanne Collins

This is sure to be a jolly, happy spring read… or a bloody, violent mess, either or…. I am so excited about this book! Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was a bit of a flop for me which was sad, I didn’t think it was enough about the games to draw me in, which is what I love so much about the original Hunger Games trilogy. But this book looks perfect, I’m very excited to read more about Haymitch’s story!

The Dungeon Crawler Carl Series

Matt Dinniman

These book choices are getting progressively more violent and grim, but I am well and truly obsessed with this series. It’s a fantasy, sci-fi combo following Carl after most of Earth’s population is squished and he has to fight in a deadly dungeon game to survive. It’s kind of Hunger Games meets Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. It’s epic and so funny and I can’t wait to keep reading it in the spring.

What books do you have on your spring TBR? I promise when I started making this list I thought it would be a bit jollier, but I clearly want to bring in spring with some mind-bending and chaotic books…
