We see you spice lovers... and we have the subscription box just for you!

Each month the Paper and Word team will choose a paperback dark fantasy book full of extra spice for you to have delivered or collect in-store. We don't limit ourselves to recent releases or traditionally published titles.

These titles will include explicit sexual content and multiple trigger warnings (18+)

How our book subscriptions work

Each month the P+W team will hand pick a suitably dark and spicy fantasy book to go in the subscription box.

We'll share this with you shortly after, and then ship your book subscription package to arrive mid-month. As part of your subscription you get:

  • A paperback copy of the book
  • Access to our P+W community Discord

Then you can read at your heart's content!! There's no official meetings for our book subscriptions...BUT you will have access to our P + W community Discord where you can connect with your fellow spice lovers!

You are in control of your subscription! If you decide you want to cancel/skip a month because you've read the book or don't fancy it, you can do so in your login before the 28th.

When you join you'll be charged for your first month.

You won't hear anything from us until early in the month, when you'll then see a dispatch/collection email for your book subscription package.

You'll then get the P+W Discord access soon after the 13th, where you can make your introductions and settle in to our community.

This is a fantasy book subscription, so our Dark & Spicy box will always be from this genre!

If you see the book of the month and you decide it isn't for you, or you've already read it...Don't worry, you can skip that month!

Our monthly cut-off date is the 28th of the month. If you join before this, you'll be sent the book of the following month.

If you join after the 28th, you will get your first Dark & Spicy package the subsequent month.

Example:

Joining 1st-28th May - you will receive your package mid-June.

Joining 29th May-28th June - you will receive your package mid-July.

You will be charged immediately when you join the Book Club - after this you'll be charged on the 28th of each month.

If you join after the cut off date, you will still be charged immediately, but would then not be charged on the next 28th, it would be the one after.

There's no time restraints to your reading, or meeting dates to pop in you diary ... Our book subscription boxes are purely for you to discover new stories and be able to read at your own pace.

By signing up, you receive 1x paperback a month and access to the P+W community Discord where you will have a Dark & Spicy channel to chat to your fellow spicy book lovers.
